Dubbo is increasingly becoming a centre for excellent and varied food. After a long drive I arrived in Dubbo in the mood for a light dinner before going to my accommodation. I of course consulted Google Maps. The combination of the reviews photographs and menus promised exactly what I found. This Japanese restaurant is a family friendly well priced dining spot with exceptionally friendly staff. Not wanting a heavy meal, I opted for the poke bowl - it turned out a good choice. The underlying ingredients include brown rice, green bean, cucumber, avocado, beet, seaweed salad, friend onion, kale or cabbage and coriander. I chose salmon and added yuzu ponzu sauce. The salmon cubes were just perfect. The rest of the contents of the bowl satisfying, healthy and tasty. I teamed this dish with bowl of steaming miso. What I loved about this restaurant was that it makes Japanese food accessible and affordable. The beaming smile of the woman behind the counter was not on the menu but oh so welcome. I was on my own so a little bored. I appreciated the kitchen’s efficiency in getting the order to me promptly. So another find in Dubbo - one worth a return visit. Check it out.
Very tasty food, presented beautifully. Service was impeccable and fast. Large serving sizes. Restaurant was very clean. Love the plates and servers used. Loved the Miso soup! (Wish we could see out the front window though). I highly recommend as the only Japanese restaurant to go to in Dubbo.
Absolutely delicious! The sushi and poke bowls are super fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick. The atmosphere is modern and relaxed, making it a great spot for both dine-in and takeaway. Definitely one of the best food spots in Dubbo — highly recommend!
My husband and I have been a few times to Kan, we are always greeted by friendly staff and seated promptly. The restaurant is well decorated and lit to Create a warm atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone from sushi to ramen and curry.
We arrived on a random Tuesday night. The place was full to eat in, and had a steady stream of takeaway orders. They seemed understaffed for the amount of clients, and so the service suffered as a result. They were slow in taking our order, slow in making the food, and when it did arrive half the table arrived a good 10-15 minutes after the other half! They also missed an item from one order that had to be brought out. The staff were lovely and took it all in stride, so seems to be an issue of not expecting this much business. The food itself was excellent. All dishes were delicious and demolished. Sushi bento, large rolls, hand rolls, kids meals, all excellent. The place was extremely noisy. Small, hard surfaces and packed out - made conversation across the table all but impossible without adding to the noise! In short, come on a quiet night and enjoy excellent Japanese.
We enjoyed a fantastic dinner here. Esp the poke bowl is strongly recommended! I ordered grilled salmon poke bowl and finished it without left a rice lol. I love the sauce! And veges are very fresh. Salmon is half grilled so very soft and tender. I’ll mark here as my fav restaurant and definitely will be back when coming to Dubbo next time!
Had dinner at this Japanese restaurant during my visit at Dubbo, conveniently located next to the Quest Hotel where I am staying. We ordered the Salom Bento, Tempura Udon and a cocktail. The food was delicious and satisfying. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Walked in during dinner time and had no seat issues. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area. :)
Comfortable place with delicious food and friendly staff! Among the sushi restaurants I’ve tried in Dubbo, this one serves the freshest sushi, and the ramen was authentic and tasty too. Definitely recommend!
